Do you work with children or seniors? Do you provide care or emotional support to people in need or with special needs? Caregiving and emotional support skills won’t be automated in our lifetime, forecasting is not for 1000 years or more. If you have these very special habits and skills…. you’re people positive and altruistic, good relationship and conflict handling skills, and comfortable interacting with someone who is in need, or work in a business that provides these services, your skills will remain in demand. Working in these careers without the right habits would be draining and could lead to burnout. As automation continues to displace more and more workers, there will be increased competition in these fields that cannot be automated. So, continuing to work on our personal development and honing our skills will still be important, even for someone fortunate to already be in a “hard to automate” career.
