The displacement of employees by automation will create more jobs for attorneys. People whose strong habits lend well to theoretical work, or work with concepts and ideas, will help society adjust legally and economically to the changes technology brings through their litigation and legal research work. There will be a lot of legal questions and challenges, such as ”Should corporations have to pay income tax for jobs performed by robots?” and if so, ”How should these tax revenues be allocated?”
All law careers are not equal. If you have soft skills for relationships, conflict handling, or dealing with people in need, client facing practices that help people facing crises such as criminal or family law, would not be a comfortable use of your law license. If your habits mean you need to work with people, objects, or practical, applied tasks, spending all day conducting legal research and writing reports would be difficult for you.
